This isn’t the time for literacy instruction that might work. 40% of Core5 students exceeded their growth goals in the 2020–21 school year. That’s because Structured Literacy, which is based on decades of rigorous research into the science of reading, is proven to build foundational skills.
Students love Core5, too! The self-directed design builds agency and the learning experiences are personal, engaging, and motivating.

FACTS!
My organization, Buffalo’s Concerned for Youth, Inc (BC4Y), recently received a $4000.00 Youth Literacy Grant from the Dollar General Foundation, a $25,000.00 Homework Gap Technology grant from Kajeet, our local Lowes and Food Lion, $2000.00 F & M grant, Rowan County Housing Authority, East Spencer Town Manager and has established collaborations with the Charlotte Hornets Foundation, along with Leading Legacies Consulting Services LLC to implement the 365 Days of Literacy-Literacy Lounge initiative. This will allow us to mentor the at-risk, school -aged youth of the Rowan County/Salisbury NC area on the importance of becoming a self-sufficient asset in their communities, homes, and schools instead of being perceived as a liability in today's society. Literacy is an integral component in achieving both academic and social success.
